Song of the Day: April 29, 2024

I’ve been doing these song of the day posts for over a month now, and I have decided that it will be the format of the Radio Faux Show for a while. I’ve changed the format several times over the last few years, but these new shorter posts are fitting my lifestyle very well right now. However, I don’t want to lose all of the old show themes, so I’m going to try a new mixed format. This won’t be true every day, but there will be periods where I focus on these mixed shows. To start this, I’m going to go for one of the original Faux Show themes by presenting my Top 20 albums from fifty years ago. Therefore, today’s post will be my 20th favorite album of 1974.

1974 was an amazing year in many styles of music, and I think my Top 20 shows that variety. For number 20 on my list, I’ve selected the song “Them Belly Full (But We Hungry)” to represent Bob Marley’s album Natty Dread. This was the third album in Marley’s run of incredible ’70s albums. The song “No Woman No Cry” is the most well-know track from the record, but I’ve always liked track 3 the best.
