Hermanos Gutierrez: Sonido Cósmico
Special thanks today to A (Mostly) Music Blog for introducing me to Hermanos Gutiérrez. Alejandro and Estevan Gutiérrez are two brothers who perform instrumental music based in Latin and Western song form. Their recordings are minimal with regard to instrumentation, mostly two guitars with simple percussion, but the production is full of layers and textures. Their last album, El Bueno Y El Malo, was produced by Dan Auerbach (of The Black Keys) and nominated for a Grammy and other awards. “Sonido Cósmico” is the title track from their new album that releases in about a month and was also produced by Auerbach.
