Vampire Weekend: Ice Cream Piano

Vampire Weekend just released their fifth album. After releasing three of the best albums of 2008-2013, they went on a recording hiatus before returning in 2019. It has been five years since that record, so fans are rejoicing with the release of Only God Was Above Us. The Faux household are big fans of the band and Faux Jr. has grown up listening to the amazing fusion of Indie Rock and African Soukous that is their trademark. This new album does not disappoint. Album opener “Ice Cream Piano” slowly builds from a lo-fi, distorted riff into a trademark Vampire Weekend banger. The rest of the record takes off from there with nine more songs that sound as fresh as ever while still sounding like only Vampire Weekend can sound.
