Brian Eno: Baby’s On Fire
Continuing my list of the Top 20 albums of 1974, coming in at #11 is Here Come The Warm Jets by Brian Eno. Eno released his first two albums in 1974, and his first is about as groundbreaking as an album can be. In some ways, the song “Baby’s On Fire” was the beginning of rock and roll to come. It is hard to imagine bands like Talking Heads, The Cars, or dozens of other influential bands from the late ’70s sounding like they did without this song and this album having come first. This album invented new wave music years before anyone used the term.
