Nu Shooz: Bagtown
It’s funky Friday! Nu Shooz are best known for their 1986 smash “I Can’t Wait.” That is about all I knew about them until I recently came across their 2016 album Bagtown. I have now learned that they stopped recording for about 20 years after their 1988 album Told U So, but have now released 3 albums of electro-funk R&B in the 21st century. The title track to Bagtown is a funky groove reminiscent of Steely Dan’s later recordings. Nice.
