Mary Halvorson: Tailhead
Sunday is jazz day! Mary Halvorson is a composer and guitarist. Her new album Cloudward was recorded with her sextet Amaryllis, featuring Halvorson on guitar, Nick Dunston on bass, Tomas Fujiwara on drums, Patricia Brennan on vibes, Adam O’Farrill on trumpet, Jacob Garchikon on trombone, and Laurie Anderson on violin. The album’s eight tracks vary from the avant-garde of tunes like “Incarnadine” to the more straight-forward of tunes like “Tailhead.”
