Randy Newman: Louisiana 1927

Randy Newman is an American treasure for anyone who loves great songwriting. During his 56-year career, he has evolved from a singer/songwriter writing songs for others to a Top 40 artist to an award-winning film score composer. Through it all, his attention to melody and his acerbic wit have created a fan-base of millions, including those in the Faux household. I’ve selected “Louisiana 1927” because I’ve been singing it in my head as I read daily about the death and destruction caused by increased hurricane-induced flooding due to climate change. To all of the climate change deniers out there, please don’t be the “little fat man with the notepad in his hand,” lest we all get washed away.
