Sharon Van Etten: Afraid of Nothing
Continuing my focus on the Top 10 albums of 2014, coming in at #4 is Are We There by Sharon Van Etten. Van Etten’s fourth album was her breakout recording and one of the most critically acclaimed releases of the year. This is 21st century singer/songwriter material at its best. It slows burns through track after track of introspective material and wonderfully showcases Van Etten’s vocal range. Van Etten has continued to grow her audience since this album’s breakout release, but this record is still one of her best and most popular.
