Bauhaus: Bela Lugosi’s Dead
Today is Halloween, and my favorite band to listen to on Halloween is Bauhaus. When I was in a band decades ago, we always covered “Double Dare” by Bauhaus at this time of year, but their best Halloween song is definitely “Bela Lugosi’s Dead.” This ode to the original horror movie superstar is one of the band’s best songs. If you haven’t ever heard it, you are in for a treat (pun intended).
To learn more about Bauhaus, check out their Wikipedia page.

Setting the Halloween mood. 😀

We actually had trick-or-treaters, which is rare! That was a fun ten minutes. hehe

Best kind of halloween. Give out a few pieces of candy and eat the rest yourself.

Ah, thanks. 🙂 Sadly just came from the doc and one thing I’m told is I can absolutely not keep continuing to eat all the leftover candy! haha

Oh no! I also should not be eating so much leftover candy, but tonight I’ll have a dum dum in your honor.
Still hoping you can find some relief.

Great choice for Halloween! Bauhaus really captures that eerie vibe. What’s your favorite memory from playing “Double Dare” with your band?

Goth white face paint with a dark cloak and standing on the front stage monitor while staring out across the club. I played bass and a Bauhaus song is filled with wonderfully repetitive and simplistic bass lines. Halloween shows were always packed. Thanks for asking! Fun memories.
