Run DMC: Christmas in Hollis
It’s funky Friday, holiday style! Today’s official song is “Back Door Santa” by Clarence Carter, but “Christmas in Hollis” is the reason most people are familiar with Carter’s tune. All that Jam Master Jay needed to create the music for Run DMC’s classic holiday tune is the intro to the Carter song. There are other holiday songs sampled here, but it is the Carter tune that makes this one of the greatest old school rap songs of all time.
