Jimmy Smith: We Three Kings (of Orient Are)
Sunday is jazz day, and today is a Holiday edition. Jimmy Smith’s 1964 album Christmas ’64 (aka Christmas Cookin’) is an absolute stone-cold Holiday jam. Smith was one of the originators of Hammond B-3 organ jazz playing, and this record combines some traditional Holiday arrangements with his trademark B-3 organ sound.
