Allie X: Black Eye
Continuing my Best of 2024 list, today’s selection is “Black Eye” by Allie X. She is 39 years old, but sounds like a 55-year old who grew up listening to club music in the ’80s. I grew up listening to club music in the ’80s, so I love this album. It is a perfect mix of modern tech with old school EDM. New Order, Human League, Erasure, Depeche Mode – it is all in there somewhere. These songs are infectious.

Can imagine this playing in this dark weird bar I got into as a teen, Kitchen Club. 🙂 Really loved to see everyone dancing at a time when lots of friends thought they were too cool to.
