Nilufer Yanya: Mutations
Continuing my Best of 2024 list, today’s song is from British songwriter Nilufer Yanya. I first listened to Yanya in 2022 on her album Painless. That was one of my favorite albums of that year, so I was excited when her follow-up album, My Method Actor, was released in September 2024. She has worked with songwriter/producer Wilma Archer on all 3 of her albums, and their collaboration continues to work well. This is catchy indie-pop that is full of 21st century beats, big hooks, and intelligent lyrics.
