The Pixies: Oyster Beds
Since it is lost classics Saturday, and my earlier post today was from an 80s band who helped lay the foundation for the alt-rock of the 90s (Volcano Suns), I will continue my bonus posts of new songs with another band who helped lay that foundation. The Pixies released a new album in October 2024, but I have only now gotten around to listening to it. It is exactly what I expected. That is not good or bad. It just is. “Oyster Beds” is one of the more aggressive songs on the album, but the days of Black Francis sounding sincerely angry appear to be long gone. Still, it is always nice to hear from an old friend.
