Eddie Palmieri: Un Puesto Vacante
Continuing my list of Top 20 albums from 1975, coming in at #17 is Unfinished Masterpiece by Eddie Palmieri. One year after winning the first ever Latin Music Grammy Award for The Sun of Latin Music, Palmieri released his follow-up in 1975. Unfinished Masterpiece is probably just as good as his Grammy winner, but The Sun of Latin Music holds a special place in my heart as the first album of this music that I discovered 20 years ago. There are six tunes on this release, each one a classic of the style. Palmieri is one of the originators of this music, and his work in the ’70s never fails to deliver. This is dance music, so crank it up and feel the groove.
