The Tragically Hip: “Grace, Too”

“Grace, Too” is from the the fourth album by Canadian rock royalty The Tragically Hip. They performed the track on SNL in 1995, arguably the greatest moment in Canadian rock and roll history that doesn’t involve Rush. There is no reason for today’s selection – I just felt like listening to this song.

  1. Gord Downie and Tragically Hip are criminally underrated, by far. I was introduced to their music in the early aughts by a Canadian friend and was immediately drawn to Downie’s plaintive, earnest, and powerful delivery. I was not familiar with this song in particular, but I’m so glad I am, now. It pulsates with raw emotion. I would choose listening to Tragically Hip vs. Rush every single time. Thank you for posting this and RIP Gord Downie–a huge loss to the music world.

      1. Yep, and there’s that, too. I personally know several fantastically gifted Canadian musicians that were never able to break into the US market. Blatant snobbery and our loss, big time.
