The Orchids: Something For The Longing
While researching the female rock band The Orchids, I ended up listening to a different band called The Orchids who I used to listen to 35 years ago. The Orchids are a Scottish indie rock band who were one of the primary artists on the Sarah Records label. They were a jangly, sophisto-pop band who released many 7″ singles and a few albums back in the late ’80s and early ’90s. “Something For The Longing” was always my favorite of their tunes. It has an infectiously catchy chorus and is a perfect example of the music Sarah Records was known for back during their brief existence. To learn the fascinating history of Sarah Records, check out the label’s Wikipedia page.
