Françoise Hardy: Tous les garçons et les filles
Continuing my focus on artists who died in 2024, today I present a song by French vocalist Françoise Hardy. Hardy was one of the most popular French ye-ye artists of the early ’60s. Her breakout occurred in 1962 with the song “Tous les garçons et les filles,” and she immediately became an international superstar. She composed much of her own music, resulting in a popularity that rivaled all other international vocalists, and making her one of the most recognizable French pop artists of the last 60 years. In addition, she made an impact as a fashion icon, an astrologer, a muse for artists and poets, and one of the first artists to be associated with an image as much as with her music. Françoise Hardy died on June 11, 2024 at the age of 80, leaving behind a legacy that rivals all of her musical contemporaries.

I had no idea she passed away. I went through a year of listening to her obsessively. Just loved the mood she sets.
