The Vibrators: Whips and Furs
Continuing my focus on artists who died in 2024, today I present a song by The Vibrators. Pat Collier was a co-founder and bassist for the band, and died on July 27, 2024. The Vibrators were a first generation British punk band and their 1977 debut album Pure Mania is a punk classic. This is the style of punk rock that influenced bands like Green Day. I selected “Whips and Furs” because Collier played bass, and, I mean, c’mon, listen to that bass!

Thanks for pointing to the bass. That’s a great place to anchor when listening to this. Fun guitar too.
