Original Washington Monument
I had to take a week off from these posts due to personal stuff, but I’m back this week with some photos from a recent trip to Baltimore. This is the original Washington monument, located in the Mount Vernon neighborhood of the city. It was designed by architect Robert Mills and was completed in 1829. Mills also designed the more famous monument in Washington, D.C. (completed in 1877). I’ve also included a song from composer Philip Glass (born in Baltimore).
