2024 has come to a close, and I want to give a very heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who visited The Radio Faux Show this year. When I started this blog almost four years ago, my only goal was to continue my musical education and I thought it made sense to share what I learn with anyone who may be interested. I have never focused on the social media aspect of this, and I have never made it my goal to increase my stats through views, likes, comments, shares, and whatever metrics are used in that way. However, 2024 has been my most viewed, liked, and commented year by far, and in that process I feel like I have become part of a small group of like-minded bloggers who have found my blog, and in so doing have introduced me to other blogs as well. While The Radio Faux Show has always been a music blog first and foremost, the small community I have become a part of presents blogs that are much more than music. I have discovered an amazing community of photographers who provide me daily joy through their shared images and stories. I have discovered bloggers who springboard off the WordPress Topic of the Day to present thoughtful writing about the state of the world around them, both personally, politically, and globally. I have followed personal journeys through parts of the world that I will never visit, showing me images that are always interesting and sometimes awe-inspiring. I have been provided a daily dose of incredible images and poetry. I am amazed at the variety of the people who have visited my site over the years, especially in 2024. They live all over the world, across all continents and throughout dozens of nations. I will most likely never meet any of these people, but I feel like I have already met all of them through their posts. While most of the world moves further away from the written word as it focuses on 30 second TikTok and Instagram videos, the beauty of blog culture is that it demands thoughtful writing. This can be a poem, a few sentences, or a dozen paragraphs, depending on the goals of the person blogging, but the number of words does not matter. What matters is that people’s stories can be told in a way that can bring the world together if one is willing to take the time to read someone’s story, understand their opinions openly, and appreciate that we are all human beings experiencing the same human condition no matter who we are or where we are from. Happy new year to everyone who reads this, and may 2025 bring you peace, fulfillment, and joy. And to everyone else who will never read this, I think I speak for everyone I have met through this endeavor by wishing the world peace, health, and safety in these turbulent times.
I would like to offer recognition to a variety of people and blogs in appreciation for their support and for making me feel welcome in their own little online world. All of these blogs are worth a visit. I apologize if I leave anyone out, so please comment and tell me “WTF, dude!” if you feel neglected, and I will be sure to give you a shout out as well in a future post.
First and foremost, I want to thank Ms. Faux for putting up with my musically obsessed nonsense for all of these years. She shares my love of music, but more importantly, she is my moral compass who has taught me the importance of compassion and understanding. A lot of people in this world would do well to behave like Ms. Faux and stop acting like insolent, narcissistic, self-absorbed children with no attempt to understand how their own beliefs, actions, and ignorance impact other people who are different than themselves.
I also want to thank Faux Fan West (who now lives on the East Coast) for being the original Radio Faux Show fan. This blog sprung from the playlist sharing project we worked on together during 2020. It’s come a long way since then, but it all started with our shared love of the music of our youth.
The Mostly Music Blog was one of my first subscribers and started me on my 2024 journey into many other blogs.
The Singing Gecko’s blog is thoughtful and filled with caring and empathy toward others.
Miss Parker loves David Bowie and 80s music.
Roads Lesser Traveled is a blog written by Ray Van Horn, a long-time music writer now turned horror writer. He never fails to present something interesting in his posts, featuring vintage ads, discussions of music and movies, and reflections on his own writing and personal life.
Black Moon Lilith uses poetry, essays, and personal anecdotes to present her view on the world around her.
The Unfrazzled Analyst presents personal tales from her daily life.
Wind Up My Skirt presents personal, often moving and emotional, tales from her daily life.
Midwest Mary presents poetry, images, and stories about a variety of topics.
Beauty File is a UK blog devoted to beauty and health.
Fox Reviews Rock is a UK collective that presents a variety of daily and weekly topics devoted to hard rock and metal.
Houston Roby shares many of my own views on the music of the past and is devoted to writing well-researched articles about music that most have either forgotten or never knew, much like the first few years of my own posting endeavors.
Leanne Cole is an Australian photographer who presents amazing images of the world around her.
Firewatersite presents reviews of a variety of television shows and other pop culture.
Laura Lyndhurst is a UK poet and writer who reviews books at an astounding rate.
Over Hill and Dale presents poems and images from Portland, Maine.
Also, as always, I have included a song. This one is dedicated to everyone who has ever visited the Radio Faux Show.

Happy New Year! 😎

Thank you so much for the mention. I recognize some of the other titles and will have to explore the rest. After nearly 20 years blogging (the first few on Blogger, then I got wise and moved to WordPress), I, too, do not look for numbers and stats–I cherish the friendships I’ve made, the people I’ve met personally, and the warm welcome into the Canadian independent music community.
A very Happy and Healthy New Year to you and your family! Thank you for being a part of the thread that keeps the blogging community vital, welcoming, and above all, personal. xo

A rich list of blogs to check out, and only a few I’m familiar with!
Thanks so much for mentioning my blog. You’ve added a lot to my life this year, cutting right through my ‘good intentions’ of broadening musical horizons–> those may have gone nowhere without your persistent introductions! I’ve learned a great deal from you in a gentle and fun way.
Have a most wonderful 2025, and thanks to Mrs. Faux, for all the things you mention about her! Sounds like my kinda gal!
